They don’t have our date available! They just booked it yesterday (screaming a little because we’ve been trying to get a hold of them for weeks) but they have the Friday and Sunday available. We have people flying in on Friday so I’m leaning more towards Sunday, but what do you think? It’s a 3 day weekend so I’m not super concerned about everyone going to work. Would a Sunday morning wedding work? Or could we do it in the afternoon still?
Best part, it’s only $300! I’m over the moon!

Yes, definitely. Almost all of our guest list is out of town and the next available Saturday is like a month later

Just curious, if you are getting married August 2019, did you just get engaged or did something happen with the original venue you booked? When you sent your invitations out, what did you put as your date and location?

We’ve been engaged for a while, our original venue fell through, that’s why we’re having to get another one. The invitations had our original venue on them.

Oh no! I'm sorry that happened. I am sure that has been a nightmare. I would choose the Sunday date over the Friday since you have guests flying in on Friday. I think the afternoon time would be better. That being said, I think it would be good to talk to your out of town and guests and see when the majority of them are planning on heading home and setting your wedding time based on that. Good luck!

Does it have to be that specific date? People shouldn't of had travels booked yet if there was no set date.

I'd say if the holiday weekend works for your guests traveling in then Sunday is a great option! Especially if the cost is cheaper!

We had a set date because we had a venue, but then it fell through. I’d like to keep it that weekend because everyone already has plans to be here.

Oh ok that changes things then. I'm so sorry about your first venue! Sunday would definitely be the best choice so those traveling in don't have to rush on Friday to get into town plus get to your wedding on time.

For your guests who have already booked travel, see when they were planning on flying back. I would say Sunday morning might be your best bet in case people were planning to fly back on that Sunday.

I am doing a Sunday wedding and most of our guests are close by. I do have a few guest out of town and I am planning to block hotel rooms. My wedding is from 3:30 to 9:00 pm. However, if you have concerns about guests coming in or out, you can do a brunch or early afternoon wedding.

There are like 4 couples in my friend/family group getting married this year (one just did last week) and absolutely nobody is doing a Saturday. Two of us are doing Sundays (one am and one pm), one is doing Friday in the middle of the day, and the other actually did a Wednesday--that one was very small.
