We are our own Dj...... help

Nichole, on May 12, 2019 at 12:50 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
So we can’t afford a DJ but the venue has all the stuff you would need. We have asked one of our friends if he will be the one to make all of the announcement, kind of like our MC. He has asked for a schedule of when and what he should say, and I have no clue what to do!

We are doing the same, we are having a friend do the announcements and having an iPod with different playlists based on the time for him to select, I’m separating it this way (Ceremony songs, special dances, dinner music, dancing) I’ll give our mc a list of the specific songs to play for the special moments and the rest will just be on play during the reception Smiley smile luckily he does have the speakers and all so it’s just the music we’ll provide Smiley smile

Figure out what things you want to have at your reception. Are you doing a grand entrance? Announcing family or bridal party? When's your first dance? Cake cutting? Toasts? Throws? Games? Dinner? Make a schedule for all of those things and anything special you want announced about them. You'll need to write the introduction for the entrance. That's what this person is looking for. Tip: you're also going to need someone with you who can go in and let them know to start the entrance speech.

Hey Nichole! As the pp's have mentioned, you should make a timeline of everything that will happen during your reception and then highlight what will need to be introduced by your MC. You should give suggestions about the type of things you would like him to say so that it will be in keeping with your theme.

It will become a lot easier once you have written out your reception from the beginning to the end.
