RSVPs have been returned and now, 3mths before the wedding, I have someone asking me if they can invite their new partner they've been dating for 2 weeks.

My issues are that we've not met this person before and it's an added cost that we hadn't budgeted for.

Thoughts please

If you gave him the option at one time, then he probably thought the option still stood. Since it's a DW, I'd let it happen. 200 pounds is quite hefty chunk, but you did offer it at one time.

Why did you have RSVPs returned 5 months before the wedding?!! I am sure others' relationship status will also change in that 5 months (either in relationships or no longer in relationships). I mean some people could get engaged within that time, divorced within that time. Tbh, that was a big mistake on your part. So yes, you should tell him that his new partner is welcome. Then make a point to meet them in the next 5 months. Be prepared to add a few new people as well because of the amount of time between then and now.

ETA: Okay, now I see RSVPs aren't due until July 1. You still send your invitations out wayyyyy too early. They should have gone out 8-10 weeks before your wedding. However, my advice still stands. 1 more person won't break the bank. Its also possible they won't even be together by the time of your wedding, so just pencil in the additional person and get an update closer to your wedding date.
