Ways to stay Excited after Postponing?

Kendra, on April 7, 2020 at 9:03 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 1
Hey guys!
So like many couples this year my fiancé and I have decided to postpone our wedding. We were supposed to be getting married in July and now we are getting married May 18th 2021. We’ve been engaged 3 years and this is our 2nd push back. Now we’ve finally got all of our vendors picked out and only the small stuff left to do in a year I feel that exciting wedding energy kinda going away because it just feels so far away again. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the excitement or make the time feel smaller?

    Hi Kendra,

I'm sorry you've had to postpone your wedding twice. It's understandable that you might feel some of the original excitement dissipating as you wait for the new date to approach.

Do you think you might want to celebrate the original wedding date in some way? Or maybe you could establish a regular date night (at home for now) so you have something to anticipate while the weeks pass?

Other couples have reached out for ideas to commemorate the day, so WeddingWire has posted a fun article. It's positioned for people who can't go on their honeymoons, which I completely understand is different than a wedding (but also disappointing to those couples). You'll find it here: 8 Staycation Ideas If You Can't Go On Your Honeymoon. These suggestions could be a way to make your quarantine time together extra special.

    Hope this helps! Smiley heart
