Wax??

Kerri, on March 2, 2016 at 9:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 36

Ok ladies, should I get waxed for my wedding? Or is just shaving okay? I hate pain so I know if I wax there is a 100% chance I will cuss. I also know I tip well. Not sure if it's worth it though. Sorry for the odd question.

Very personal decision, but I say do it!! After my first wax, I have never looked back. No more razor burn, no more stubble, many fewer ingrowns. Pop two Advil 30 minutes before, shell out a few extra bucks for the post-wax gel or cream they'll offer you, and give yourself a day or two between the wax and when you want anyone to be up close and personal. I think you could be very happy! Also, exfoliate before the wax and then religiously afterwards - they may give you an exfoliating glove to use, if not ask about after care and get their recommendations.

I was terrified of my first wax, but it was great!! Just be ready for someone to be all in your bits if you're going full Brazilian.

Look into sugaring! It's like waxing but less painful and better for your skin :-)

Shaving is fine. I get razor burn like crazy so I've been getting sugared. Which is like wax but more gentle.

Well its not like there is a wedding day vagina rule so its OK to do whatever you want!! BUT...Its really not that bad, I would recommend trying it. The estheticians are pretty used to cussing I would imagine!

Trust me, we've seen and heard it all when it comes to bikini waxes and brazilians. your waxer wont be bothered at all by a little cursing. Smiley tongue

If you do go the wax route, go several days ahead of time - you may be a bit sore and its better to avoid sex or any close fitting undergarments for 48-72 hours. Get a scrubby exfoliating bath cloth and a bottle of Tend Skin to prevent bumps and ingrowns.

I'm getting sugared--I heard great things about it, less red bumps and more importantly less pain! Smiley smile

I've never been waxed before, but I'm doing it before the wedding because I don't want to have to worry about shaving on the honeymoon. My hair grows back super fast, like I get a 5 o'clock shadow on my legs, LOL.

I have not ever been waxed, had no clue ingrown hairs were more likely. Yikes!

I've never tried the sugaring but will absolutely be looking into it! I get waxed regularly...it works for me. Also...I cuss a lot! The girls don't even bat an eye!

If you have a European wax center near you, go there! The stuff they use just gets the hair without taking off all of your skin with it! It still hurts like no other but sooo worth it!

Love my sugaring! So does fh lol. The first few times I had done I cussed, a lot. Now I can carry on a full conversation. I have my "regular girl" that I see every 5-6 weeks.

I am! I don't want bikini bumps on my honeymoon! Since your wedding is so close, I would go ASAP to try it and see how you react. Then your next appt should be the Wednesday or Thursday before the wedding.

I wax regularly. Every 4-5 weeks. The longer the hair the more it will hurt. If u go often enough it doesn't hurt as much. Still hurts just not as much.

"Sugaring is applied with the esthetician’s hands directly onto the skin (they wear gloves, of course), while we use wooden sticks for our hard wax. Sugaring pulls the hair in the direction it grows (wax pulls against), so many find it to be a gentler, less painful process. Both products are warm and have a honey-like consistency."

Sugaring takes off hair and dead skin, while waxing takes off hair and the first layer of live skin.

I used to go and it's been a while. I have an appointment tomorrow to start the regimen to get her all shined up for the big day and honeymoon! Lol I just think the pain is worth being hairless for a much longer time than shaving.
