Was your proposal a total surprise? 💍 Or did you see it coming??

I had no idea it was going to happen! We’ve been together 8 years and we knew we were going to marry each other and have talked about marriage all the time, even had the ring already. It was my moms engagement ring. However I never asked him when he was going to do it and we never went ring shopping or anything and I never wanted to know how he was going to do it, I wanted it to be a surprise and he’s not great at secrets and I’m very observant and catch on easily so I never asked questions or wanted to know. Anyway we were on a cruise with a few of our best friends and he popped the question during our “professional” pictures before our captains dinner. One of my best friends since elementary didn’t know he was going to ask me (he never told her because she wouldn’t have spilled the beans as soon as she started drinking lol) but she asked my fiancé 30 minutes before “so when are you going to purpose nick?” In front of me and our other friends that did actually know, and I just laughed it off (because we get asked that all the time and we never say anything because we never wanted to be rushed) and everyone said they laughed with me when I just laughed it off and they were grateful I didn’t push 😂 but that’s pretty much how it happened and you could say I was pretty surprised even though I knew it would happen someday just not which day.

It was a total surprise! I wish i would've known or sensed it ahead of time because i totally would have went with a better outfit lol. I mean we had been together 5 years (to the day) and had a son together so we had discussed it obviously, usually by me nagging him but the day it happened i was completely clueless. It was wonderful (:

I do believe I surprised him, expecialy when I purposed it surprised me as well. I had just gotten a promise ring for him and was going to present it after work. Well to my surprise due to being tierd, I recited what I had prepared how I didn't think I could love another as I do him, when at the end I said will you marry me. He of course said yes and here we are.

I was TOTALLY surprised. It was the day before my 25th Birthday. We went on a cruise with two of our closest friends (EVERYONE knew but me) and he proposed in the Bahamas. I was not expecting it at all. We'd been talking about marriage and the future for years, so I knew it would happen eventually, but I didn't know when

Yeah I was surprised. Very long story short, I thought my FH was going to murder me but instead he proposed and I was happy and relieved. I'll go into detail if people want it but it's a long story.

Funny!! My guy sat me down and was talking very seriously, discussing us, our past and what our future might hold. I thought, "Yep, here comes the break up!" When he proposed I was like, "Huh? What?"

I was totally surprised/ but also kinda knew. We were having a rough year, after being together for 3 1/2 years we were talking about marriage and children. I didn’t think that he would propose to me on vacation but it was the most romantic proposal ever. In bristol at a NASCAR race infront of the winners trophy!

I wasn't surprised at all. It was perfect timing. My whole family and friends were there it was the perfect setting. Perfect occasion. He proposed at my graduation dinner. Even though I suspected it was coming, I still acted surprised and shocked. I loved it. It was perfect!

We got engaged in the Bahamas on our birthday trip

It was a little of both. We had been talking about marriage for a while and I knew the ring was made but I was not expecting him to propose while we were on vacation in Spain. I had packed his bag so I really thought that it wasn't going to happen. He completely surprised me one night and it was the most amazing thing ever. Spain is my favorite place in the world and when I told him that on our first date, 7 years later he made sure to propose to me there!

My fiancé and I had talked about getting engaged and getting married and we had planned a trip to universal studios right before I was supposed to deploy, and I loooove Harry Potter. So I knew it was coming and I got my nails done and stuff. And then the day before we left for universal we went to dinner with my godparents and I didn’t suspect anything. Well he completely surprised me and asked me at this cute little square in Charlotte right outside the restaurant we would celebrate at! It caught me by surprise and I was SO happy that my godparents got to be there with us to share such a special moment 😍

We're long distance, and started talking about marriage before we'd even met!

I'd been thinking about asking him for a while, but couldn't decide on when. I eventually just asked him online a week after our first visit, then went to bed. He took 2 days to consider as "it was out of left field" for him. He said yes, and included a song in his reply, which I will walk down the aisle to.

We have been talking about this and I am excited to get engaged

I knew it was coming because we had been talking about the wedding and marriage for a long time, but how he did it was a total surprise!! My sister had been talking with him about it and helped him pick out a ring for me.

I wasn't surprised I knew he was planning it but I was surprise on how beautiful my ring looked in the box that took my breath away and when he ask I laughed because he used my full name. I'm the one who uses the full names when I need attention so I guess he learned a little something from me, he sure did get my attention I my fiance

I asked him, I'm pretty sure he had no idea it was coming.

I had a feeling it would happen by the end of 2019 but had no clue it was going to happen where and when it did. We planned a weekend get away for my 30th birthday and hiked up this 3+ mile trail in the beautiful fall leaves. He had been taking pictures the entire time so I wasn’t even remotely paying attention when he set up the tripod again. It was absolutely perfect.

We had been talking about it for a month or two. I knew he was planning on getting a ring and I knew the day he got it haha because nothing gets passed me.
But the day he did it was a surprise. I was scheduled to work all day but work let me off early. It was our anniversary day and I was hoping he would do it that day because I forget dates but he told me he wasn’t going to do that. He took us on a sail boat and for some reason I didn’t see it coming. But he did! And it was perfect
