Wanting to use Vistaprint but i need a details card

Emily, on September 4, 2018 at 11:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Anyone use vistaprint and somehow manage to order a matching details card with hotel accomadations on it? All the designs I like have every other matching piece but this. Or thoughts on alternatives? I know I could make my own but for ease of convience (i'm a big fan of one and down) I'd like to order the whole suite at once, same quality, paper, etc. and be done.

My fiancé and I have a small business and we use Vistaprint for all of our stationary needs and we are using them for everything wedding related as well. I highly recommend them, though keep your eye out. They have frequent sales and you can get 50% or more. The piece of stationary that I have that lists the hotel accommodation information is called a "Horizontal Flat Reception Card". It's about the size of a standard post card and fits in the envelope with the invitation and RSVP card and envelope. You just change the text to reflect what you need. Try designing your invitation all the way through. After you have approved your design, it will show other similar items that you may also want in that design, such as envelopes, thank you notes, table # seating cards, RSVP cards, etc. It may pop up then and you can edit it the way you want and save a copy to your portfolio.

I used VP too and was really pleased with the whole process.

We used the 5x7 (ish) flat invite for the actual invitation, a 3x5 (ish) for the reception card and RSVP card, then a business card as a details card giving direction to our very thorough website.

You can use one of the matching pieces and just delete all the other stuff and make your own. Vistaprint is really good about being customizable. I liked the background of one invite, but liked the design of another and was able to just cut and paste what I liked to the other invite.

You can also chat with customer service at Vista Print and they will make pretty much any change to your designs for free. Similar scenario to what someone else mentioned, I liked the back side design of my invitations and not the design of the details card so I asked customer service to make them both match and they did it instantly. Very easy to work with!

I ordered my invitation, RSVP card and information card (with accommodation details and website) from vistaprint. I was confused as to why there was no option for an additional matching card in the style of invitations I chose as most other sites offer that. So I just used the RSVP template, deleted all the information and added my own. The only thing that sucked is I was unable to have the same cursive font for “information” as I did with the RSVP and invite. And obviously those cards came with 90 extra RSVP envelopes 😑 which did sort of come in handy because I ruined a few in my printer trying to print our return address lol. And I’ll just use the leftovers for mail I need to send in the future if I need envelopes.

    Totally forgot until just now!!

VistaPrint doesn't do "Outer" envelopes, they told me they do not offer them...so if you're looking to do an outer and an inner, make sure you can get an outer from another place that you like.

I got ours from the Papermill Store online.

Sorry, I'm confused. I picked 5x7 flat vertical invites and added on the provided the envelopes with the assumptions invites, details card, rsvp and rsvp envelopes would go in that 5x7 envelope and be mailed. Is this not correct? Do I need a third envelope for everything? Sorry, I have never ordered from them or invited before. Thanks!

Using two envelopes is up to you- it depends on what you want/ need to do. I had to do Outer / Inner because the ones we picked that matched our invitations were black, needed metallic writing and got lost for months in the mail -- seriously 6 months for the Save the Dates.

So, we ordered outer envelopes that were a little bigger from Papermill so we could write on them in black ink, then used the VistaPrint black envelopes that came with the 5x7 for the inner envelopes, tucked them inside, wrote on them with metallic ink and voila!

The inner envelopes fit EVERYTHING, including the invitation, the reception card, the RSVP card and envelope, as well as the rehearsal dinner invite and RSVP card and envelope AND 3 enclosure/details cards.

You'll be fine! I just wanted you to know that if you were choosing to do outer/Inner that you may have some issues.
