We asked one of the venues we looked at if we could use sparklers for our grand exit and they told us that they were illegal within city limits in Oklahoma! Talk about learning something new... I looked into it on the government site and it's true. Fireworks are illegal within city limits which includes sparklers! So now what? Haha does anyone have any suggestions for an exit? She we just walk out with music playing? What are y'all doing?

You don't have to do anything as your exit but if you want to do something I think the glow stick idea is cute and if you get multi colors that might be awesome too!

Krystyna, I'm in the same position..Valley Forge National Park.. can't use runner down the aisle, can't do birdseed, rose petals, rice etc.. best we can use are the ribbon wands or bubbles so we're opting for bubbles.. if anything Smiley smile

Tina, not everyone on this post was harping - it only applied to those who were. Smiley smile

Michele, yay, a fellow park bride! Smiley smile We might opt for bubbles depending on the time of day and exit! I think it will be so cute regardless.

@Krystyna thank you. I would never actually do something if it could get me or my guests in trouble I mean c'mon haha I don't wanna end my wedding that way. Thank you for the suggestions ladies! I'm not a huge fan of the ribbons but I'm gonna ask the venue what other people have done. Keep the suggestions coming! Also, has anyone used sprinkles?! I've heard they look great in photos but I've never actually seen it

Edited for spelling cause I apparently can't type properly

I was going to suggest ribbon wands! They are cheap and easy to make and have fun effect as well. We are a park venue with similar rules as well, no confetti, no fireworks, etc. So ribbon wands are my choice!

You actually might want to check with your local fire marshall. Fireworks are banned within Seattle City Limits (where I am getting married) however, a temporary permit to use sparklers is available for free. I just applied for one Smiley smile

What about a balloon exit? We were thinking about having everyone grabbing a balloon and letting them go as we walked by and the people who didn't have ballons were going to throw shiny confetti lol

We didn't do an exit. The DJ called it a night, everyone headed upstairs to exit, we took a few more pictures, and headed to the shuttle. Then we hung out with our guests at the hotel patio til it was time to crash. I personally don't like sparklers anyway - they burn too fast. Maybe birdseed if you want something thrown. The ribbon wands are nice, too!

Just be careful if you decide to use colored sprinkles. If it's raining or very humid, those sprinkles may cause a mess on your dress. I have heard of people resorting to white sprinkles when they needed to in that case.

Same situation here in our hotel venue , they don't allow sparkles.

Alternative to sparklers for wedding exit.

Explosive Confetti Poppers, Rose Petal Wedding Confetti Poppers! Gold Glitter Confetti or with sillys string!

Make noise with wedding send off horns from etsy. Cheer poms Also something luminous is a 14" White fiber-optic wand is made of soft and pliable fibers that add extra color and excitement to your night

I'd check first with your venue. We had a DW and then a local reception, and both venues in general had different rules about what was allowed... Neither would allow us to use or decorate with confetti (not that we wanted that, just that it wasn't allowed). We did a flower shower after our ceremony is Vegas--makes for fun photos!

Be careful with the bubbles - my friend who is a wedding planner says if your dress is satin or silk then the soap can leave little stains/marks on your dress.

And I have the same issue with the sparklers. I wanted them also and they are illegal where we are having the wedding.

I love the streamers idea but if it is late, then you cannot see them anyway. I think we were just going to do a DJ announcement with a fun song. Plus I feel like there is not a huge need for the extravagant exit. Do something fun and maybe enjoy glow sticks and lanterns to help give the exit some light
