Where I live its kinda tradition for the father to walk the bride down the aisle. My parents were divorced the whole time I was growing up, and my dad was never in my life. I saw him once a year! Where I live its kinda tradition for the father to walk the bride down the aisle. My parents were divorced the whole time I was growing up, and my dad was never in my life. I saw him once a year! My mother has passed away, otherwise she would be walking me down. I feel like my dad just expects to walk me down, because he's my dad & thats how it usually works( around here anyways)

I really dont want him to, because he didnt raise me & even now we only talk maybe once a month. What do I say to him? I want my FH to meet me half way down the aisle & walk together. I dont want to hurt my dads feelings, but I also dont want to regret having him walk me down. Its supposed to be sentimental (like hes "giving me away") But hes never even been there for me.

What do I do?!

Dawn B. I dont want to hurt his feelings, because he is my dad. But.... I feel like if he walks me half way down, he might as well walk me all the way down. I dont really like the idea all together. I just hate making people feel bad.

Nicole C. - My dad said he wanted to help pay for the wedding too with x amount. Which was back in December. We have since made all the down payments, I personally bought my own dress, we have all the centerpeices, already sent and bought save the dates ( and he knows we had to put payments down, & he knows I had to buy my dress ) But has yet to offer a penny for anything. So... Im not really counting on it.
