waiting on vendor replies....

How long is too long to wait for a prospective vendor to return an email? I've been waiting for what seems like FOREVER just to get pricing and availability, and I dont get it. Isn't this a game of competing for the customer? You'd think that if some of these photographers/caterers/etc wanted work, they'd be all over replying to people who are going to pay them hundreds and thousands of dollars for their services.

Call them and ask if they received your e-mail (e-mails do sometimes get lost "out there").

I am a Wedding Caterer An we have at as a rule to respond before 24 hrs and within 48 hours send a quote/ estimate. Normally it takes us 1-3 hours to respond to your inquiry. Beware of vendors that are hard to reach. When you need them at GO TIME you will be sorry!

I say 24 hours is usually a good time. If it's the weekend especially a Saturday give them 48 hours, since most vendors work during the weekend.

I'm having the same problem. I contacted a catering company because they work "exclusively" with the venue that I want to book and it took them 2 days to respond to my initial request. I gave them the additional info they asked for (which I provided in my initial inquiry) and now 3 days later -crickets-
