waiting for honeymoon

Just want to know how many of you are waiting to have the honeymoon? Me and FH most likely can't afford to do it right away but now I'm getting sad that it won't be right after. We'd even have to wait at least 4 months until after wedding because FH works 70-80 hours a week from November to January...

Due to FH's schedule, we're waiting until September to go.

We are waiting for money/time off purposes as well. That being said, I think that it will be be nice to spread the wedding fun out a little bit!

I (haven't talked to FH about this yet) am hoping to take some kind of relatively local "mini moon" for a couple of days right after though.

Wow you're situation is EXACTLY like mine ! Lol but we might take a trip to an all-inclusive resort in Florida. We haven't settled on a definite location yet

Totally waiting! We got married 2 weeks ago and we're not going until August when he can take a week off. I'm a teacher so I will have the whole summer.

I'll tell you that we were soooooo exhausted after the wedding!

I took Thursday until Tuesday (wedding was Saturday) and I still didn't want to go back to work. However I would have been upset I would have been that tired on our Honeymoon.

Waiting, in my opinion, is best.

We are waiting. Getting married in September and work for me picks up mid to late October so I won't be able to take time off until after the holidays. FHs work picks up around tax time so we're taking a cruise in February when things are calm for both of us. But we plan to take a small local vacation the weekend after the wedding.

I am in nursing school and can't take any time off for the wedding. I have a week off after the wedding for a vacation, but we decided to just go away for a few days somewhere quick (Florida, perhaps. Maybe Canada seeing as how we will be in Detroit) then going on a longer "real" honeymoon after I graduate in April. So we are waiting 6 months.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say society's unrealistic expectations have struck again... Pay $30k for your wedding and then be expected to pay another $10k for this dream honeymoon. Who has that kind of money and paid time off? I think "back in the day" weddings were much cheaper, and all the "mini-moons" people are talking about now were someone's actual honeymoon -- a couple days in a town a couple hours away. But now it's expected for people to take 2 weeks off work and fly halfway around the world...

And with that said FH and I want to go to Italy for our honeymoon, but our wedding is 3.5 months away and we've done no honeymoon planning. I can't afford it right now, so unless he's treating or we get a lot from our honeyfund I'm not sure if we're going to go immediately. My job is very flexible and I *might* be able to get a week off, but I don't know yet.

We're doing a mini moon in the DC area and then our actual honeymoon in December when work slows down (we both work for a hotel chain)

We are thinking of taking it around our 6 month anniversary. We are having a DW, so figured it will be a nice get away after the wedding, and our vacation days will be renewed also

FH and I are waiting Smiley smile we might do a mini vacation afterwards, just a little road trip or something. But were saving up to go on a nice, long, wonderful honeymoon sometime next year!

We're planning on going on a small "honeymoon" near where we're getting married to decompress and get alone time. But we'll be going on an actual honeymoon later.

We are planning to wait and will just take off Monday most likely. I will probably take off Tuesday as well and go to Disney world with my niece and nephew and family while they are still in town but FH is worried about his PTO especially with the holidays in December as well.

We decided to just go away for the weekend following- only 2 nights but that's all we're doing for a "honeymoon"-

we are planning a big trip next summer, but I call that a vacation, not a honeymoon since it's a year later...

We are waiting too. We're going to do a mini moon in Oct to a town a few hours from here and then come tax time we're going to take our real honeymoon which will be to Iceland. The idea of being a newlywed and having to work a few days after the wedding really sucks but we'll be able to appreciate the honeymoon a lot more when we aren't half dead (physically and mentally) from the toll wedding planning has done on us

We got married May 6. We are doing a minimoon in June and will do a full honeymoon later this Fall. I feel like by waiting I'm getting lucky to do a mini and a full.

We're waiting for 2 reasons, I'll have my 2 last finals before graduation about a month after the wedding and since FH's bakery supplies my university's cafeteria, both of us wont be able to take the time off, and second, we want to save a bit more for our honeymoon... so we'll be taking it at least in January (wedding is in November)
