Vows in Watertown- I Found the Gown- Who's been?

Megan, on August 20, 2013 at 11:26 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Has anyone been shopping/bought their dress at Vows? The store from "I found the Gown" ? I'm trying to make an appointment.. can't believe there is a wait list all the way through end of September!

I would figure it would be a long list since it is all over the TV. I haven't been, but sure wish there was one around.

Nope I have never been, however I wish that I had known about it back when I was getting my dress as they were only 20 minutes away from me. I'm not surprised that they have such a wait list after the exposure that they have gotten from TLC.

Were you able to make one in October? At least you still have a little time so you could wait!

You have time. Don't let those people make you panic. Smiley winking I ordered my dress middle of October for our May wedding and I had no issues with it being on time for alterations and such. With Vows, they are all sample gowns so if you find your dress there you won't have to worry about waiting for it to come in. If you don't find anything at Vows, just be sure when you go to other Salons that they know when your date is so that they won't try to sell you a gown whose designer takes too long to come in. However even still, you will have 8 months for it to come in which would give you most options.

Also I see you're getting married in Harvard. That's where I live Smiley smile

I went to Vows. I took my gown home that day because they have very few gowns that you can order, what you try on is what you take home. But you have plenty of time, I started looking in July for a February wedding.

@Mrs O ... no way! Did you grow up in Harvard? I did...

thanks.. I feel like I have plenty of time too.. I'm tempted to go to Davids Bridal first, get a feel for what a like, then shop at Vows.. since i Know I Have to take the dress home if I Love it.

    Thanks everyone!!

Megan, nope, I grew up in New Jersey, but I moved up here to Mass about 6 months after DH and I started dating. We used to live in Somerville, but just recently moved out to Harvard last December.

I went there recently. You can sign up for any appointment available (even if it says waitlist). Just let them know you live in MA. 9 times out of ten, an appointment cancels for the day you want. The sales people there were really nice and super helpful.

You have plenty of time. Can't wait to see pics if you find a dress. My wedding is before you and I still haven't bought a dress either.
