Vow renewal

Kristen, on May 30, 2019 at 7:41 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
Is there a good website that tells do's and don'ts of vow renewals? I know it isn't a second wedding but we were going to have our oldest son walk me down aisle, our daughter walk down with my husband and our two youngest walk down together. Going to have all four kids stand up with us (kind of like them being maid of honor, best man and groomsman) and do a sand ceremony including them. Everyone says there are no actual 'rules' but then I see everyone saying don't do this or that

I think if you follow the general rules of etiquette for any wedding, you'll be fine! Your vow renewal can be as unique and personal as you'd like!

    Here's a link to a website with some basic Do's/Dont's: https://www.idostill.com/planning/planning-basics/vow-renewal-dos-and-donts/

Its pretty broad - I don't think they're 100% hard and fast though, but I hope it helps!

    Hi Kristen!

This is a tough one because there is no right or wrong way to plan a vow renewal! It would make it a lot easier if there was Smiley laugh

It can be similar to or as different from a traditional wedding as you like!

If you're ever unsure and would like some feedback on some aspect of your planning, reach out to the community, we would be more than happy to help Smiley smile

I love all the ideas you have so far, with your children walking y'all down the aisle and acting as the wedding party. It sounds super family orientated and intimate.

Will you be inviting many people to the vow renewal?

The only people who will be there is is, our kids, my mom (maybe my dad) and 2 of our close friends and their child. I get so overwhelmed bc I keep seeing don't do this, don't do that haha.. from the dress to everything we need I'm kind of freaking out. I seen to wear maybe a cocktail dress but then when I Google vow renewal pictures there are some that wear dresses that look just like a wedding dress. I don't want another wedding dress so that part isn't a big issue.

I'm sorry this is freaking you out Smiley sad

Honestly, there is no right or wrong! Try to ignore the opinions you're getting which are making you doubt your plans!

With the dress, wear what you're most comfortable in! If you want to do a cocktail dress, go for it! If you don't want to wear a 'traditional wedidng dress', don't! If you don't want to wear a dress at all, that's ok too!!

Please reach out if anything else is stressing you or overwhelming!! I'm happy to help you get back on track Smiley laugh
