I need some help and opinions about what most people would prefer. FH does too. We won't have a tasting at our venue until August, but I need to order RSVPs now. I would be fine selecting the options before the tasting. Here are my questions:

1) Since we only have a choice of two categories (and a vegetarian option TBD), would you go with fish and steak, or chicken and steak? I thought chicken, but FH and I would both actually want salmon ourselves.

2) Which choice(s) would you rather eat at a wedding?

chicken:

chicken piccata with lemon-white wine caper sauce

breast of chicken with wild mushroom sauce

breast of chicken with sherry reduction, capers and tomatoes

fish:

sesame crusted salmon with ginger beurre

seared salmon with white wine reduction

filet of cod with lemon-citrus sauce

steak:

grilled filet mignon with red wine reduction

Thank you! Smiley smile

    1. I don't eat fish but I was informed that if you're going with two choices, it's best to pick chicken or steak AND fish. As a guest, I'd prefer steak over chicken. So steak and fish.

    2. Chicken piccata or grilled fillet mignonette. I can't pick fish since I don't eat it.

The chicken piccata looks really good as does the sesame crusted salmon. I agree that a lot of people like red meat. Maybe do the filet and the salmon. If people don't eat red meat or seafood then they get the vegetarian option.

We are serving prosciutto and jarlsberg stuffed chicken or grilled flat iron steak in addition to kids option and vegetarian. So far most people have chosen chicken surprisingly.

I'd go with steak and fish. That's what we're doing, and that seems to be the most popular route. It seems like most guests eat steak on special occasions, and the rest eat fish or vegetarian.

My picks would be the Sesame crusted salmon and the grilled filet mignon!

Another vote for steak and fish! The sesame crusted salmon sounds amazing, my 2nd choice would be the filet of cod with lemon-citrus sauce - yumm!

I posted this on FutureMrs's thread as well, but our meal choices came down to:

    52% Prime Rib

    30% Salmon

    17% Chicken

UO I always pick chicken at weddings...

But then, I also don't eat red meat. Chicken and turkey are the bulk of my diet.

I would do steak ( because I myself am a carnivore) and either fish or chicken. If you like fish go with fish. It's your day make it perfectly yours...
