Vistaprint!

AlmostMrsMcLain, on January 24, 2015 at 12:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Hi ya'll! I'm hoping to take advantage of VP's big sale right now, and order our invites. Question...what paper type have people gone with? My thoughts were Premium Matte or Linen Finish, I figured why not order up since it's all on sale anyway? Anyone have a preference? And are these thick like cardstock?

I'm afraid if I scramble to order I'm going to overlook something, so I'm trying to double and triple check everything! Thanks ladies! Happy Weekend! Smiley smile

We are ordering ours this weekend too and we are going with the linen. We both really liked the thicker feel of the paper Smiley smile.

I pref. the linen, its a harder cardstock with a nice texture to it. I ordered a sample pack a while ago. I'll have to check them out and see if I like any of their styles. Smiley smile

I bought my VP invites on a deal too so I upgraded to the linen finish. I am really happy that I did! I ordered "samples" (the minimum 10) in the matte paper and it was okay, but I'm glad I upgraded the paper quality.

I got my rehearsal dinner invites from VP, but not my actual invites since I could not find any I loved. I chose a linen finish from Zazzle and it's great.

I thought the linen had the nicest finish. If you weren't in a rush I would suggest ordering their free wedding sample bundle.

I ordered our save the dates on linen and I thought the picture didn't turn out well. If there are no pictures, I would recommend linen, but I do not recommend it if there are any pictures. I like the feel of it. It just ruined the picture on the front. If there is a picture, I would order matte.

I strongly recommend shopping around for another month or so. At 5 months out - You have plenty of time. Ordering something as important as your wedding invitations should not be rushed.

Umm.. ignore Affordable Wedding Invites. I ordered my invites on a VistaPrint sale about 8 months out and I like mine. Keep in mind that wedding invites really aren't that important to me. I ordered mine on the thick paper I think and I ordered 35 invites, 35 RSVP's and 140 monogram stickers for 70 dollars. I absolutely refused to pay more than 100 dollars on something people will maybe hold on to, but probably toss out.

I also got mine from Vistaprint with the linen finish and they turned out great!! I love them. Unfortunately, we changed something for the wedding so now I have to reorder them. FAIL. But with the 50% off sale, it's only costing me like $40 to reorder so I can't complain. I'm going with linen again! Well worth the few extra bucks in my opinion.

Whew, ok, glad everyone's had good experiences with them! I loved my Save the Date postcards, and I think I'm going to go with the linen invites, and then instead of RSVP postcards, I'm going to order my RSVPs 2 to a page and cut them when they arrive so they can be linen too.

OK, another question. Ya'll that did order the linen, what are your thoughts on the envelopes? My Mom pointed out that the envelopes may look cheap/see through, etc, compared to the invite. So then I started Googling, and turns out that was what most people thought, and suggested Envelopes.com, who does have white linen envelopes... Anyone tried that route? Or just used the freebies?

I bought 6x9 envelopes from another retailer so I can have inner and outer envelopes! Other than that, I don't think people take too much notice of the envelopes

I bought silver envelopes from Joann's fabric but only because I really wanted silver envelopes.
