We ordered our STDs through vista print and photo below was pre-print. FH made the original pic a little lighter knowing that it would print a LITTLE darker as prints always do. But they came out way darker. FH face is dark and the whole pic kinda looks crappy. The edges of the "Save the Date" part are blurry. When I called them they said the reso was to high and we need to re-do the photo for lower res and then resubmit. It's just not adding up to me, how would lower res result in better quality photo?

On the 20th of the month we will be at the 6 month mark and I still have to get a bunch of these to family in Canada which takes two weeks. Family have been asking about details and I want to get these out. Feeling very frustrated and ready to get the STDs out. I will resubmit to Vistaprint but want a backup in case they come out like crap again. Any other companies out there to recommend?

Actual STD from Vistaprint in comments.

    UPDATE:

Well...they reprinted them and this time they were WAY too light and the screwed up the location of the Save the Date wording. We decided to use a local printer instead. I know others have had good luck with Vistaprint but this has not worked out for us!!

They are magnets but have no other information regarding the wedding on them or am i missing part of the image??? there's a lot to take into consideration with printing anything, especially photographs. it all comes down to the color gambit of the printers they are using. it's shitty to have something show up exactly how you want it on a computer screen and then have it look completely different when it's executed, i think a lot of things were at play.

that being said, support local businesses my friend! the savings weren't worth the headaches in this situation i'm sure!! i hope you don't use vistaprint for your invites!

I wasn't all that impressed with Vistaprint's quality, either. I'd rather pay more and have something done right. I'm glad it worked out for you!

Haha ok GOOD i was like ummm....

in regards to your question about lowering resolution to lighten the print - it sounds crazy but what lowering the resolution will do is require less ink to be put down upon printing. just some insight for that part. i'm sorry you experienced this with vistaprint. i hope you get refunded!

We used Vista Print for our STD's, wedding invitations, and wedding programs. No complaints here! So sorry that you had a bad experience.
