Vistaprint Design Services

I’ve never know anyone who used VistaPrint design services for their save the date so I decided to give it a go and thought I’d share my experience thus far. I will post an update once I have my final design.

The first two photos are the STD design I liked but wasn’t 100% in love with. It’s only $10 for custom design so I figured, why not??

I sent in the following design request: (link to the original STD included) “We would like to make the border around the photo silver, replace some greenery with lavender, and add a pink butterfly onto the front design” (I also included pictures showing what greenery I wanted replaced and what color butterfly).

So, there definitely was a misunderstanding about the picture border and the silver/gold switch. What I got back was the edited design of a different but similar STD, lacking the photo. Luckily you get 3 rounds of revisions before the final product — so hopefully we can get what we really want!

Now for my question, how would you explain maybe more in depth the edits I wanted?? I don’t want to waste a second round and still not have the design I’m envisioning.

That is so weird! I guess I'd just say, "Please keep the picture slot on the front there. The text & background color can also stay the same. I just wanted the lavender & silver & butterfly edits, not all the additional ones." maybe?

I used Vista print but it was a much much much simpler and clean look.

    Hi Kristen!

Along with explaining the edits, you would like, would you consider numbering the text, e.g. Edit 1: Change this gold border around the image to silver.

Then using paint or some other app, put corresponding numbers on the actual image marking that the edit relates to this.

    Check out my example below.

Do you think this could make it clearer and help with the round of edits?

    This looks awesome!!

I'm so happy the approach worked for you Smiley smile

What picture will you add to the square? Did you and your FS have an engagement shoot?

My FH and I have our engagement photos on June 7th so once I receive them I will pick one for the save the date, and then I will order them. I’m mailing save the dates in August or September. I know I will probably use a black and white photo Smiley smile

I think a black and white photo would be a great option, it looks great in the sample!
