“Virtual” Bridal Shower?

Hello Covid Brides! Has anyone successfully had a virtual bridal shower? It's certainly not my preferred choice but we're trying to work with what we've got. Most of my family lives in NY however I live out of state. My mom and MOH want to throw me a bridal shower however looking at NY's current restrictions it would be difficult to travel in and plan a party. (I would need to quarantine on arrival and there's still indoor limitations as well.)

-Has anyone had a "virtual" bridal shower and what did you think? Was it awkward?

-What platform did you use, Zoom, Facebook etc?

-How did you receive/ open gifts?

-Did you have a timeline or play games to keep people entertained?

Sorry, I have so many questions and not even sure how this would logistically work. Please help!

Not a bridal shower, but one of my friends had a virtual baby shower that turned out great. It wasn't awkward at all and we used Zoom. Her host sent out the registry with the electronic invitations and they set it up to have everything delivered to her house. So pretty much everyone purchased the gifts early that way they would be to her house on time. I think I purchased my gifts for her 2 weeks before the shower but it was through Amazon so I knew it would make it on time. She did open them while we were on Zoom.
We did play a few games and they even mailed the winners gifts (I received a gift card in the mail about 2-3 weeks later from winning a guessing game). I didn't know how it would turn out but it actually was a good fun time.
I know it's not a bridal shower, but I hope this helps!

I attended one. She used zoom. She had a honeyfund set up. Yes, we played games like charades. Trivia questions about her and her fh.

Hi Cristina! I’d recommend using Zoom or Google Hangouts - something you can send a calendar invite to!!
Like Yasmine suggested, I think having the registry gifts shipped directly to your house is smart so you can open them on camera. And it would definitely be fun to play some games!
