Viking Wedding/music

Hey all! So my fiancé and I want to do a Viking-themed wedding and we have some really fun ideas! However, I don’t wanna make our guests have to listen to Viking music the entire night, considering there’s kids and old people I’m sure they would love to dance to modern music! As would me and my girls! So I was just gonna have Viking music for the ceremony, but go ahead and put in regular music for the reception. AND I was thinking about serving honey Meade during the ceremony (non traditional, I know) these are just a few ideas... What do you guys think?

Stick to the ceremony with the cultural music.

Sounds like a great idea. However, serve something besides the honey Meade for the non drinkers.

This sounds like such a fun theme! I’m sure you have already checked out Pinterest, but if you haven’t you should-there are some really great ideas on there! Instagram has some beautiful Viking wedding photos as well.

I think that’s a great plan! Maybe for a nonalcoholic drink alternative you can serve “Viking Ale” (Ginger Ale)

That sounds really neat! We’re integrating some Irish traditions at our vow renewal as my FH is Irish. We’re having a musician play some tunes on the hammered dulcimer, will be doing a hand fasting and drinking for an Irish quaich. He has an Irish poem selected for a reading.

I think it would be neat to mix different traditions and elements throughout the reception too if you feel inclined such as in the decor, etc.
