Hello!
I’m getting married in a week in another country, unfortunately due to money problems, his family will not be able to attend (my whole family lives in the country we are going to get married at, and they would not be able to attend if it was here due to the same reasons his family will not be attending).

My question is, would it be weird if when we come back, we invite them to our house so we can make a viewing party? I was browsing through the forum and I’ve seen most of you think is weird, but I wondered if in my case it would be an exception lol

I would have hoped that families could have joined together to get his parents to the wedding. One initial option is to see if you can do live video of your wedding ceremony so family over here can at least enjoy the wedding at the same moment.

Honestly I think that sounds very hurtful to the people unable to attend. To me it feels like rubbing it in that they couldn't be there. If it were me, I would have found a way to have at least some of his family there even if I had to cut other things from my budget.
