Videography

My family is scattered all around the country and all around the world, my parents had me later in life and I don’t get to see my family as much as I’d like to. I wanted to have this to look back on and show future members of the family if they don’t get the chance to meet some members of our family. You can recreate a wedding picture but you can’t recreate the day. I definitely wanted video.

I originally didn’t hire a videographer. But we postponed our April wedding to this September, I knew I had to hire one. I had regretted not doing it for the first date. But it worked out great, and I booked someone for less than $3k for 8 hours of filming, 5 minute highlight video and 40 minute keepsake video.

It was a "have to have" for me and I'm so glad we did!!

To be fair though, I mainly watch the highlight montage - but it's nice to know we also have the full ceremony and speeches to watch if we want!

For me, it was a definitely a want. We found a wonderful videographer who also does photography so we ended up going with a photo/video package.

We honestly had no desire to get videography when we originally planned the wedding, but after multiple people in the family having health issues we thought it would be great to have to watch in the future. I also really wanted to see our guests enjoying the wedding since it will be such a blur.


I also kinda space out when I’m public speaking, so it would be really great to watch the speeches back again to make sure I didn’t say something stupid haha

It was a must have for me, but my husband didn't think it was necessary. We had the extra room in our budget to hire a videographer and I'm so glad we did. I love my wedding video and we plan to watch it every year on our anniversary.

My fiancé (who is a photographer) wanted to hire a photographer only and I was adamant about a videographer in addition to a photographer. I think it’s important to capture such a special day in movement and not just in stills.

We chose not to have a professional videographer. We easily could have hired one if we had wanted to (budget was not an issue), but we simply didn’t feel the need. No regrets later
