Videography without sound?

Monica, on September 25, 2017 at 8:20 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

So for all of you that did a wedding video or have watched many, have you ever seen the videography that makes a "trailer"? it's more so random shots of your day and pieces of video put together with a song playing, but there is no sound, like no reading of vows or anything like that. A lot of my friends have started doing videos like this but my only worry is what if you want to hear the words to the ceremony at some point? I really like this newer style because they put the clips together well and it fits the song, but I sort of feel like a video might be pointless if there is no sound on what we said or what our officiant said?

That's the style that I like - it captures the feelings of the day without the words. My videographer will be giving us this style of video, but also all the raw footage from the day. So, if we want to listen to our ceremony, we can! Maybe you can find one who will do this for you.

A highlight trailer is usually 5 minutes or less of your wedding day. It has nothing to do with anything else you mentioned.

This is all about preference. If you prefer a video with some parts of your vows or speeches, then that's one of the things you bring up when you meet with the videographer.

I wanted to hear some parts of our vows in our highlight trailer, and I think they put it together beautifully with a song I choose for the video.

Ask your videographer for options. We were able to add on our full ceremony with the sound to our package. So we will get a trailer and our full ceremony.

For my videographer we are having a trailer and then a separate option for ceremony and reception. The trailer is exactly what it is intended for, just a few highlights from the day with background music.
