Verbal invitation without follow through

Alyssa, on September 11, 2019 at 7:36 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
About 5 months before our wedding, I verbally invited a few coworkers and told them to save the date and they were invited. A couple months after that, we all unfortunately lost our jobs and all moved to new companies. One of the women interviewed for the same job as me, and I got the job. The next day she basically ignored me and was not the same towards me for the next week. She did say bye to me on our last day but we haven’t talked since. I never sent her an invitation and my wedding is in a month. I still could, but don’t really want to based on her attitude and the fact that we haven’t seen each other since our last day at the end of June. Am I obligated to send her an invite? Thanks in advance

For me personally I wouldn’t, especially if she’s acting that way when you did nothing wrong. You probably won’t see her anymore anyway? I’m not inviting any coworkers lol

If it's not family, your not obligated to invite anyone.

If you haven't communicated since, I probably wouldn't worry about it.

You really don’t have to invite her. Given her attitude I definitely wouldn’t, but that’s just me. We invited only family and friends we’re close with.

No. My department was displaced 2 months ago.

I only invited those that I want to maintain a relationship with.

Do not feel obligated to invite fellow or former co-workers.

Especially if it’s not someone that you spend time with outside of work.

    Congratulations and 🍀‼️

Since her attitude changed so drastically, in this case I wouldn't feel compelled to send her an invitation!

I honestly don't think she would even expect an invite at this point, leave alone actually show up. I would just move on.

I personally would since you already verbally invited them and told them to save the date. If things are awkward between you, she likely wont' come, but at least there's no chance of you looking like the rude one for not following through!
