While some of us have all the details in mind right when we get engaged, we truly can't start all the planning until we have a venue! Let's see those venues that you all have chosen! What made you decide on your location? Are your ceremony and reception in the same place? Are you having a destination wedding? So many options!

My FH and I are getting married at The Heritage Museum of Orange County in California. It's a beautiful mansion built in 1890 by Hiram Clay Kellogg for his family. It's situated on 12 acres with jacaranda trees and an orange grove, a rose garden, and even a freshwater marsh! It ended up being a perfect fit for us budget and location wise as it's only about 20 minutes from the majority of our guests!

Do you have a venue yet, Jessica? If not, do you have an idea on where you want to get married?

That's so pretty, Alison! I love the draping in the reception space! And bonus for being able to save money on seating for the ceremony since the benches are already there!

Thank you! I'd totally agree. All of the wedding planners and event coordinators are sooo helpful with Hard Rock too! I cannot compliment them enough. They've made it so special.

    Miner's foundryVenues, Venues, Venues! 1

I always thought i'd get married in a state park like Armstrong Redwoods or something. I live in Northern California so the redwoods and the sequoia are not far and are one of many things I love up here. but when we scouted out venues and I found the Miner's Foundry in Nevada City I fell in love with the stone room. The Iron doors, the big fireplace, the warm lights around the windows. I literally felt like a winterfell lite. (FH and I are big nerds) I was when I stood in the room. The foyer leading in where cocktail hour will be is everything I love about rustic little gold mining towns. There are also nearby hiking trails for photos and the backdrop is lush rich forest. The town of Nevada City (venue is right in town) is a lovely little Victorian era town that time has not touched with cute little shops, cafes, and farmers markets.

Kelly, that stone room is AH-MAZING! The picture makes me think of the old logging/trapping cabins up in the mountains which of course fits right in with Nevada City. You are going to have such great photos from your wedding (and in October?! Smiley love )! Please share when you get them!

    Mozarts

We got married at our church, which honestly isn't really aesthetically pleasing but it meant a lot to us. We then had our reception at Mozart's Cafe in Clintonville, Ohio. They have actual ball rooms and such but since it was just a few people they let us use their tavern room. It turned out great.

These are all so beautiful!! We're getting married at a remodeled Mansion in Upstate NY. It's now an event center and hotel that is an all-inclusive venue for weddings. Absolutely beautiful, close to both of our families (though very far from us), and perfect for what we wanted. Still smile just thinking about it!
