Venue Officially Paid

Kelly, on September 27, 2019 at 11:42 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Yesterday FH & I did the final venue walk thru and paid the venue. It was awesome, I was a bit nervous that FH was going to miss it, his work day can go longer on a spur of the moment (he is a driver, so it can be hard to plan for). But he got out early & actually beat me to the appointment.

The DOC (came with the venue) provided us 2x glasses of wine, so we are able to cheers & discuss the wedding details in full. She also mentioned that she would recommend dropping off some big plastic containers the day before when we drop everything off, so that way if we have any extra cup cakes or no shows, the venue can pack up the food & we wouldn't waste it. We are so doing this!

Also, the hotel contacted the venue (we picked the hotel because it was a preferred hotel of the venue, and dog friendly). Turns out that we maxed out our hotel block for the weekend (which I'm surprised, as it's not a DW and we only have a handful of people traveling from over 2 hours away, but we are doing a after party at the hotel & it looks like a lot of people wanted to make a weekend out of it). Anyway because we maxed out the hotel, and we booked via our venue - the DOC asked her director to contact the hotel on our behalf to get something comped - and they selected the shuttle service (it was a $300 fee so it's awesome & super surprising that it's comped).

Tomorrow I pickup my wedding dress - EEK & FH picks up his ring.

15 more days - how is everyone else doing with their planning?

That is awesome. We just made our final payment on the venue too. We only have last minute odds and ends to knock out this weekend. Just waiting for the final info on our son and his fiancé's flight info (she's a Dr. in the military so last minute is the only way they book) and we'll have everything ready to go with the final appointments and details.

For the most part yes. Dog isn't feeling well - but have a vet appointment today. I hope that he will be ok (he has season allergies, and it's really bad right now (it didn't help that the vet was on back order for apoquel so he may have an infection from scratching, plus his ears are bothering him - I'm thinking its either allergies or he caused trama from scratching) but FH took off of work today to take him to the vet.

I had some rearranging to do with the ceremony & how much certain BM were involved in certain areas - it was handled as best it could be, and it will be good during the ceremony.

Some family gives me a hard time here & there & have made mean comments - but I just ignore them. They will always make those comments & the only thing that I can do it control how I let it affect me.

More importantly, FH & I have grew even closer during the wedding planning. We are truly a team - although he pays a bit more than a bit more, and I do lot more with planning lol but we are equals. He always says - you are doing a great job planning for this wedding, I don't know how you stay on top of things, and are so detailed. And my response is always, well thank you - you do a great job paying for this wedding and all my details. Smiley smile

That is so awesome! Isn't it a great feeling.

I know how the military works. FH cousin dates a guy in the army & we originally gave her until September 24th for the RSVP date, because he was trying to get leave, but wasn't sure. Unfortunately he found out a week before that he wasn't able to get leave though.

I was a Navy wife for years so I get it. They always make it when it counts so I'm good with it. My FW would prefer they have more time of course, but she's grateful for anything we can get.
