Venue not communicating well

I need advice on what steps I need to take next. FH and I toured a venue that we LOVE! We both agree it's the perfect ceremony and reception spot. We must use their caterer which is fine but the brochure had zero prices on it. FH doesn't want to put money down until we know how much the food with cost. Makes sense. We emailed the coordinator that night with a sample menu to get a price range. This was May 23. Didn't hear anything for a week so I followed up with an email and she said she was waiting on the chef to get back to her. Okay fine. Another week past with no response. I called her this time and left a message on June 6 asking her to call me so we can talk about it. I want to put money down and reserve this place and to officially have a wedding date!

Does it take all venders this long to respond??? What do I do next if I even want to continue with this place?? Thanks for any help!

The "its wedding season" excuse only applies if it's been a week or so. May 23 to today, June 10? That's too long. I'm with @Melissa (as usual). Find a different venue. You should still have plenty of options left at this point unless you live in BFE.

I'm on team run away. My vendors have all been super responsive, the only time a vendor took more than a day to return a message was my very first message to the florist, because I sent an email that went to her junk mail and she apologized profusely and now responds within hours. If they can't talk to you now because "it's wedding season" how are they going to be able to work with you if your wedding is during wedding season?!

I agree with previous commenters. It's troubling that not only will they not get back to you in a timely manner, but that they don't already have pricing for their exclusive cater readily available. Venues are booking out upwards of a year in advance; if vendors can't respond during wedding season, how are they going to book their next wedding season? Also, at least where I live, wedding season is May - October - that's half the year! If they're so busy, how will they be able to get you what you need for your wedding? And why isn't their pricing readily available? I find it hard to believe that no one else has requested pricing for the catering before booking - how else would you know if it's within budget?

Maybe you should be looking elsewhere. I'm sure there are other beautiful venues who can provide better customer service.
