We want to get married on a farm/barn area, So we started looking. We found a farm that we loved and also thought the price was great even thou we had to rent tables, chairs, tent etc. All in with the farm, and all the rentals its going to cost around 4,000. Which again was good compared to what the prices and over venues cost in my area. Now keep in mind that wasn't anything else ( DJ, caterer, photographer etc.) And its only like 20 mins from our house!!! We were sold, We haven't booked it yet because we are a little over a year out. Well, Yesterday i was on facebook just looking around and i came across a really beautiful farm that does weddings! It had way more stuff offered then the farm we looked at. So I emailed them to get a price list thinking there was no way it was less than what we looked at. I was so wrong! It was only 1,800!!! Way more things included, and i wouldn't have to rent anything!!!!! But here's the dilemma its like 45 mins away from our house. So my question for all you brides out there, Which would you rather have a close venue that cost more, or a cheaper venue that is farther away? (If anyone is wondering, we had an appointment to see it next month!!!!! Smiley love )

The price for me personally would be WAY more important than a 25 min driving distance. Your guests will probably be getting hotels anyway.... our venue is 2 hours from where we grew up, but we loved it, so we decided the people we really cared about would take the time to drive to see us on our big day Smiley smile

Thank you ladies! I really appreciate all the feed back, everyone i have talked to all said the samething, that 45 mins isnt a big deal and the price is soo worth it! I only had one bad answer from one of my bridesmaids, but other than that everyone been very nice!

I'd go cheaper venue with further drive! You're getting way more for less and will save money in the long run or have extra money to spend on things you really want. 45 minutes is nothing in my opinion. I agree with previous posts that I would book it fast! Places around where I live book at least a year and a half out!
