Wedding venue: Everything in one place just different areas. Right now the ceremony is at the outdoor terrace, cocktail is upstairs foyer (indoor), reception is in a larger ballroom (indoor).
I am thinking to make the event as outdoors as possible. Right next to the terrace (ceremony location) there is another ballroom that basically connects to it. After the ceremony I’m thinking to use the combination of the terrace and that smaller ballroom and make the combo of them the reception space.
Would just require some ceremony chair movements and maybe some tables that venue staff would take care of. But idc too much about that I don’t think...
That way there is a whole outdoor terrace for people to use and also a ballroom that can be utilized and the doors would be kept open so air can flow and people can flow in and out.
I guess my only cons that I can think of are that maybe it is tacky to transform the ceremony space into reception space portion in front of everyone. Is that tacky? Venue staff would handle it but idk if that’s a bad look. But it’s so we can use it again for safety! Right lol?
Another maybe con is that the terrace and new ballroom are lower level of venue. If I gave up the original reception space (upstairs foyer and ballroom) then the venue has the right to book the upstairs level. I feel like that is a little tacky too because if another event is going on upstairs (especially at the same time) it makes me feel like our event is not private. From the outdoor lower level terrace you can actually see into the upstairs ballroom. But that’s a small price to pay for increased safety right? lol
Of course safety is priority over anything else I just wanna see if the community agrees with anything I said or if anyone has any thoughts that I’m not thinking of that should be considered. Thank you!
