My wedding is this weekend and everything is all sorted out except I keep getting different advice on tipping etiquette and protocols! I am definitely tipping my photographers, DJ, and hair & makeup people. They all own their own business but I feel like I should tip them because of how much outside contact they have given me etc.
I am still unsure of if I should be tipping my florist: she owns her own company and in the contract I was charged for labor, delivery, and set up. So, I am not sure if that should cover the tipping portion? Also, a lot of people said they didn’t tip their florist when they got married.
My officiant is just an individual who does services independently, she sets her own fee and we are paying $500 for a 30 minute ceremony and are not doing a rehearsal or anything. So, I wasn’t planning on tipping her.
I also have in my venue contract 18% service charge which covers all servers, bartenders, back of house, etc. so, I think I am all good with that. But, I am not sure if I should tip my day of coordinators? I had one who has been really amazing and kept really good contact with me but the other I don’t really communicate with her at all I just know she will be there the day of.
I guess I just don’t want to look cheap or leave anyone out who should be getting a tip! But a lot of people say “tip 10-20% if you feel they did exceptional service” and that can really add up.
