Vendor ghosted me

Alicia v., on January 24, 2017 at 9:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Has anyone experienced a vendor just disappearing after a deposit was paid? I had my trial hair and makeup with her. And she was lovely and personable however we needed to do a redo trial day for the eye make up because I wanted a more simple look. I haven't heard from her since December 15th. I'm unsure what to do at this point

Do you have a contract? How many times have you attempted to reach her? What methods have you used (i.e., e-mail, phone)?

WeddingWire contacts are awful and usually go to spam. If you hadn't already put down a deposit, I would suggest you find someone else. But since you have given her money, I would call her or go to her place of business to discuss in person. eta: *wedding wire vendors aren't awful, but trying to contact people through wedding wire is difficult

Call. If she doesn't answer, leave a message telling her that she has so many days to respond before you contact authorities. Keep in mind that she may not be an email person and may check only sporadically. Call again if she hasn't responded within the time-frame. If she still is unreachable, contact the authorities. You have a contract, so you should go after her legally if she doesn't respond.

I would call or text her. The only vendors I have had issues with are hair and make up getting back with me. It took 2 weeks to get a response email from the hair Stylist to get a trial appointment but I texted him and got a response within 5 minutes. I think their schedules are so different they forget about email

Wedding is March 19th! First trial was at my house and I guess I will just go ahead and call again until answer. The deposit was only 50 bucks so I'm probably not going to contact authorities , seems as though a rather small issue in the grand scheme of things I guess.... thanks ladies
