Vendor approached us to be our dj

Emma, on August 15, 2019 at 1:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
I have a vendor who approached my fiancée and I wanting to provide their services for our wedding. How is the best way to approach discussing details such as money with someone who asked US to be our vendor.

I think this depends on your relationship with this person. If you’re interested in their services, I’d start out by asking if they have a price list and contract you can review.

How did they approach you? Is it someone yiour family knows or someone your venue coordinator knows? I think it would depend on how they got your contact information.

I wouldn’t approach it any differently than any other vendor meeting. Just ask for their price point and if the number is outrageous, let them know your budget and see if they can meet you there. Since they approached you, there may be more room to maneuver.

"Thank you for offering your services! We are definitely still in the market for a DJ. Our budget is $____ - is that something you can work with? If so, I would love to set up a time to discuss a little bit more detail with you!"

And if they say they are not in your budget, you just tell them "thank you so much for reaching out - we appreciate it! Unfortunately you're a little out of our price range, but I will be happy to pass your information along to other brides/consider you for future events/blah blah blah."

Just be honest and gracious Smiley smile

I’d ask how much they charged.

Id keep it professional and go about it much the same way as when we approach vendors. Same questions, same determining criteria.

I'd just ask for price points or any additional information that they can provide you. Even though they approached you, I'd treat them like a normal vendor.
