Veil

Becky, on June 5, 2019 at 10:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
My veil is so beautiful and short (a little past my thighs) and I hate to think of only wearing it for just pictures and a half hour ceremony. Was wondering if anyone is planning to wear their veil during the reception or just take it off after ceremony.

It depends on how in the way it gets (I also have a fingertip length veil), but I'm pretty sure it'll be off sometime during cocktail hour.

I'm actually changing from a cathedral length veil into a waltz length veil because I just love veils! It makes me feel more bridal, and I want it for reception photos. With the caveat that if it keeps getting pulled on, or otherwise annoying, I'll take it off. But the plan is to keep it on, for sure.

    Hi Becky!

If you love your veil and want to wear it at your reception, I would totally encourage you to do so Smiley smile There's no rule about how long you can wear one or when you have to take it off.

I personally love veils too, and I would probably take mine off when the dancing starts (so it won't be in my way!).

Does you veil have any embroidery or detailing on it? What do you love about it?

I LOVE veils! If you can safely sit in it without it pulling your hair I think it'll be no problem to keep it on during your entrance into the reception, dinner, and even your first dance. That might be the perfect time for a break to take it off, touch up any hair and makeup, bustle your dress, and have a quick breather before rejoining the dancing!

I wouldn’t wear it for the reception. I know is a shame to just have it for a few hours but is the same with the wedding dress after all. I personally had a very long veil and the wind didn’t allow me to use it. I was only able to walk down the aisle and removed it because the wind was bad.

I'm planning to wear my mid-length veil to the reception - I love it so much and it makes me feel bridal!
