Veil Weights - Any experience with these?

Bethie, on August 2, 2015 at 4:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

So I looked back through old posts on here regarding veil weights but I still have questions. First of all, did you use them and what was your experience?

I am wearing 2 blusher veils so they are shorter and have a lot of volume. I don't know how much they will be blowing around in the wind but I don't want the volume to be flattened by the extra weight.

Also - how do they attach? I was thinking they are two pieces and you just put them on either side of the veil like a magnetic earring but In this video of them: https://youtu.be/f4KXyqYKGSI they look like they are stuck to the mannequin body - not just the veil.

Would it be a good idea to put one half of it actually inside my dress to keep it stable???

It shouldn't be a problem unless they're heavily beaded.

Oh, I'll be following. I've been wondering if I need to acquire some of these ... this week. Mine is heavy lace, with a huge head band, and no blusher. (antique) I'm thinking it may be okay, but I don't want to risk damaging it with the weights, or by having it blow off, since its a family veil.

I've never even heard of veil weights! I'm using my mom's cathedral length veil so I probably won't need it... Although the thought of it blowing in the wind and slapping my BMs in the face is, on the one hand, hysterical and, on the other, really embarrassing. Maybe I should look into this as well...

I had never heard of this until now. Thanks. I'm getting married next summer outdoors and I'm sure it would be nice to have these!

Thanks, ladies! I think I'll bite the bullet and buy them just to be safe!
