Veil Opinions? Show me your veils!

Courtney, on January 3, 2016 at 12:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 40

Looking for suggests where to buy a veil from. I fell in love with the one they put on me at David's Bridal but it was over $200!! I'm sorry, but a veil is not worth that much to me. I know a lot of you have talked about buying your veils from Amazon, EBay, or Etsy. I'm just afraid I'll order one and then not like it once getting it. I hate buying things online because I want to see stuff in person. I'd love to see everyone's veils and where they got them and how much they cost! I'd like a fingertip length veil with some beading/stones on the edges. The one from DB was a two tier veil.

This is the best picture I have of mine. It's from my trial and was obviously steamed before the wedding. It's from DB and was about $150 I think. If I could go back I would have ordered one on line cheaper. I love this veil, but I took it off after dinner so I didn't get a ton of use out of it for the amount of money spent.

I had a fingertip veil that I got for free from the bridal store I ordered my dress from. I'm not sure how much it actually cost.

I loved the one I tried on at David's Bridal too, but couldn't see paying $180 for it. I ordered mine from Amazon for $25 and I love it. It looks just like the one from David's in my opinion. Not a great pic, but it is all I have right now..lol

They have some really nice ones on etsy! If you're going with something similar to what you saw at David's Bridal, I would not be too concerned about ordering from Etsy as long as it is from a shop that has a history/good reviews. I would be much more wary ordering from ebay or an amazon seller (the verified by Amazon from their warehouse it should be fine) - if it's coming from China don't trust it.

I feel you though, I'm nervous about my upcoming Etsy purchase too, but then there is nothing like what I want in the shops. They tried to pin one up for me to make it looks similar though which helped.

My dress is simple so I'm looking for one like this--with very little bunching at the top--from BHLDN. This one costs $250 so have been searching etsy :-)

I have one that I don't need now. I had purchased it from Michaels but then decided to get an ivory dress instead (veil is white). I went with one from dB for 69.95. I have the white veil if you are interested. If u want it I will send it to u free of charge. Here's my email if u send me a mailing address ******@*****.***

Mine was a cathedral-length veil with satin trim and a blusher. I NEVER expected to want a long veil or a blusher but when they put it on me, I just felt like a BRIDE! I looooovveeeddd my veil and had it preserved along with my dress! I'm no help though - I bought it at the bridal boutique where I bought my dress for $300.

I paid just under 500 for cathedral length veil with beaded embellishments on the trim. My mom and I just loved it and didn't want to even try to find anything else. I had enough in my dress budget to get it, so I did.

ETA: I LOVE your pictures, Annakay!

So this one was from DB and I think it actually may be the one you have on. It's $190 and I was planning to make my own for $15 but I do like this one and my mom is in love with it so I think she may spring for it (she seemed even more sold on jt than I am)

Sitting here currently making my own with my mom! The one in the bridal salon was $550 for a single tier cathedral veil with beaded lace appliqués. We got appliqués on Etsy for $35, tulle for $6 and a metal comb for $5.

I couldn't find the vail I wanted for under $200 and happened to be talking to the lady at the dress alteration place I go to for my wedding dress and she skid to me they could make it for me exactly what I wanted for $85! I never would have thought ought to have one made and turns out it's a heck of a lot cheaper!!!

My veil was cathedral length. I spent way to much on it, so I wanted to make sure I was able to have it on most of the night. I actually paid a local seem stress $50 to put a bustle into the veil so it could be bustled up during the reception. Unfortunately the pearls were so heavy the loop the seamstress sewed in got stretched out and about an hour before the end of the reception I ended up just taking it off anyway.
