Veil-less?

Is anyone going without a veil? I already have a birdcage, and I tried on many traditional ones. But, I don't feel like any of them are my personality. I don't want to not wear one and regret it. I plan on wearing a low chignon, and put a large flower on the top of the knot. So I won't be unadorned....

I plan on wearing a low chignon, and put a large flower on the top of the knot. So I won't be unadorned. What are your thoughts? Or pictures of what you lovely ladies are doing veil, or other? (Maybe if I see some veils I will be convinced to wear one!)

Thank you!

Without a veil you're just a girl in a pretty white dress - Randy Fenoli Smiley smile

I wore one for my first wedding but this time around im wearing a tiara, which i wanted to wear the first time but didnt & regretted it. I also want to show off the back of my dress and a veil doesnt really go with it (imo).

A birdcage is a mini version anyway sorta kinda so that's good enough.

I kind of feel like a dork having the whole veil and blusher but my family is so traditional so I'm doing them both.

Thank you all so much! The FH really wants a veil, but it just isn't my style (I don't even wear hats, let alone a poof of tulle!) I have a while to decide, but now thanks to all of your words I won't feel like I will make the wrong decision, whichever way I swing.

I tried on a veil but it felt too traditional and formal for me. I have a brooch bouquet, and I'm wearing a sparkly antique looking comb in my hair for a little bling.

I only will get one time to wear a wedding gown & a veil in my life. So I'm going full speed ahead, with a chapel length gown & a two tier fingertip wedding veil with a headband. In my head I will be saying, "Go Robin, Go, Robin, Go Robin", lol

No veil for me. My hair was in a low, side chignon and so I opted for (fake) flowers in my hair. I LOVED the look! DW wore a veil, and it was perfect for her. Here's a pic - I thought we each looked timeless with what we chose!

I never wanted a veil until they put one on me at the store. Then I went veil crazy. I bought a finger tip, cathedral and birdcage. But the day of the wedding, I was over it. I thought about putting on the birdcage, but didn’t feel like messing with it nor did I feel like I was missing anything. I had a very large, sparkly barrette and I felt that was sufficient.

No veil for me. I thought about finding a clip or a comb that had some sort of tulle or lace on it, but couldn't find one I liked. Besides, it's my second wedding and at 36, I think I'd feel ridiculous in a veil. After hours of searching, I found a comb that I liked.

I think Aronna put it best! I wore a cathedral veil for the ceremony, it is my thing and I always pictured myself in one. Once it was in I kind of forgot it was there to be honest, but I love how it looks in pictures. If you don't like veils then don't wear one, you won't regret it if it's not your thing.

The back of my dress is sooo nice that I don't want to cover it up with a veil.

I was all for he birdcage.. until I got my dress and the lady put a long cathedrial veil on me... and all bets were off!

I still might switch the veil for a birdcage for the reception just because it's my day I feel like it

This girl is my veil-less inspiration. Her hair is so amazing, she didn't need one and I love the big flower. She DIY-ed her whole wedding for 160 for under 7,000, and it was amazing!

I won't have a veil. I love the back of my dress..I also want my tattoo to show..because I love it so much (its between my shoulders). I may find some sort of pretty pearls or something to have put in my hair.

I am not wearing a veil. The back of my dress has a lot of detail and I feel like it hides it. I am wearing rhinestone headband. This is your day so do what makes you feel best!

Wow! I love this post! I really thought I was the only bride that has never wanted one. Even my photographer thought I was crazy when I told him no veil.
