Veil-less?

Rachel Kay, on November 13, 2013 at 5:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 45

Is anyone going without a veil? I already have a birdcage, and I tried on many traditional ones. But, I don't feel like any of them are my personality. I don't want to not wear one and regret it. I plan on wearing a low chignon, and put a large flower on the top of the knot. So I won't be unadorned. What are your thoughts? Or pictures of what you lovely ladies are doing veil, or other? (Maybe if I see some veils I will be convinced to wear one!)

Thank you!

I'm wearing a bird cage. I hate veils. I feel weird with one.

I don't like veils, they are too old fashioned to me and I would get annoyed. I plan to wear my hair in an up-do and to find some kind of hair pin to wear with it

I wore a cathedral length but that's because I wanted to. Birdcages don't look good on me and short veils make my arms look fatter than they are. You don't have to wear a veil. If it's not you...it's not you. And I don't think you'll regret not wearing one as much as you might regret wearing one if it doesn't fit your personality.

This is the veil and headpiece I will wear until after our first dances at reception, then it will be off so I can dance the rest of the night! (it was my mom's)

If I didn't have this, I would probably go with a birdcage - I have always love the look!

I'm not wearing a veil. Partially because I don't want one, and partially because I'm wearing my hair in a braid and have no idea where I would even possibly stick a veil.

I wore a birdcage for our wedding. I’m glad I did because it fit our theme but sometimes I see the brides with the cute little bun and cathedral length veil and think those are really pretty too.

No veil for me. The back of my dress is wayyyy too fabulous for that! And also, veils were originally a sign of purity and arranged marriages. Neither is the case!

I was not planning on wearing a veil until I tried one on and ended up liking the look with my dress. I do not think a veil is needed though unless you feel like its something you want that goes with the dress.

I'm not wearing one, I have never wanted to. I did try them on while dress shopping and still didn't want it.

I'm wearing a handmade (by fmil) glorious English net veil that extends way beyond my dress train. I love them. They're so timeless and make for some phenom photos. However, during the reception, I will most likely take it off and wear a hair comb pr something.

Nothing. No birtcage, no veil. They are annoying and get in the way.

I bought a cathedral length veil and at the last minute decided not to wear it. I don't regret it. A very minor detail in my opinion.
