Veil for reception?

Paige, on October 4, 2019 at 6:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
Are you ladies leaving your veil on for the reception? I have always seen that a veil comes off after the ceremony, but my mom seems surprised at the thought of taking the veil off. What are you all doing?

I kept mine on, and regretted it. It made my head way too sweaty during dancing, messing up my hairstyle.

I didn't have one but I've seen many people take it off and put something else on such as a bird cage or a headband

One daughter left hers on (finger tip) and the other removed it (cathedral). It’s really your choice.

Don't wear your veil for the reception, it will just get in the way!

Same here, I always assumed brides took them off after the ceremony and photos. When I said that in front of my mom, she looked at me like I was insane lol. I’m considering a chapel or cathedral veil so I’ll definitely be taking it off for the reception!

Since I’m doing a headband too I plan to take mine off. I’m really only doing the veil at the ceremony to make my mom happy

Mine got wet during photos (it had been raining) so it was off before we were done taking pics!
It was a cathedral length so it would have come off any way.

Depends on the veil. If it is a cathedral length, you're not going to want it on all night, it'll just get in the way. Birdcage or finger tip is possible. A lot of veils come with a shorter version to be swapped out for your reception if you wish.

I have a cathedral length, I had the option of getting the shorter one for the reception but decided against it. I'd rather have nothing on my head, I'll be too worried about my hair already 😂

For my first wedding I changed from a chapel veil to a fingertip for the reception. No issues with that for me

Mine is a fingertip length, so I'm keeping it on for the reception. If it was cathedral length, I'd take it off

I am planning on taking mine off. I don't want it to get in the way or mess up my hair during dancing.
