Vegetarian wedding food!

This is the exact same vegetarian main I'm serving at my wedding. Personally I've never been a fan of butternut squash ravioli, but after tasting it at our tasting I fell in love with it. It was really good. Our salad is also vegetarian, we will be serving seasonal veggies, and roasted potatoes. So I think the vegetarians will be fine at my wedding. We're also serving chicken and salmon served over rice all buffet style.

Would you prefer a pasta station or a risotto station during cocktail hour? The rest of our menu is:

Hors d'oeuvres: Tempura fried green beans with Sriracha honey mayo (V), Truffle potato croquettes with garlic aioli (V), Buffalo chicken pierogis, Swedish meatballs, Bruschetta on crostinis (V)
Live StationPasta or risotto? (V)

Salads: tomato, basil, and mozzarella salad. Baby spinach with strawberries and goat cheese (with NO prosciutto to make it vegetarian and glazed pecans nuts on the side to make it allergen free)

Entrees: Butternut Squash stuffed ravioli with parmesan cheese sauce, Pretzel encrusted pork medallions, Pesto grilled chicken with bruschetta, New York strip steak with steak sauce aioli

Sides: Green beans with lemon and butter, Garlic mashed potatoes/ herb roasted potatoes (we haven't decide yet)

I would go to TOWN on some butternut squash ravioli! And I'm definitely not a vegetarian lol.

I've only had the vegetarian meal at a wedding once, because it was a miscommunication of my shellfish allergy, and they brought me eggplant parm, which was delicious. I still would've preferred the steak in that instance, but the eggplant was good so it wasn't worth it to me to make a stink about it to the server.

ETA I think I'd prefer a pasta station over a risotto station for cocktail hour. Your menu sounds so good! Can I come??

I LOVE butternut squash ravioli and would order it in a heartbeat over many many many meat dishes.

We have four vegan friends attending and I'm sad to say that the vegan option offered at our venue is NOT very exciting. I talked to the restaurant and got a slightly better entree offered, so I reached out to our vegan guests and asked if the offered entree would be OK if I got them some really awesome vegan cupcakes for dessert. Thankfully they were all really excited about the HUUNDREDS of cupcakes offered by the dessert place.

My FH and I dont have any food allergies or sensitivities, but we will be having guests that are so we have a menu that will be inclusive for everyone. Our menu doesn't necessarily go with the venue but it's local, affordable (only like $6-$8 per person) and has gluten free, vegetarian, options along with meat. We're doing a barn reception with Cajun food! Not the same old to be expected BBQ some of the things that we will be having;
Vegetarian Spinich and mushroom Etouffee
Vegan White chili
Gluten free Jambalaya (my favorite!!!)
Dairy free drunken chicken
And a Chili cheese etouffee with crawfish
and lots and lots of garlic roasted baguettes 🤤

Since you're already have ravioli for the entree, I would probably prefer the risotto during cocktail hour. Too many carbs can make me feel sleepy.

Our wedding had stuffed peppers that were to die for.

I would 100% eat that pasta dish, that sounds amazing. I went to a wedding that had quinoa stuffed portabella mushroom caps that my non-vegetarian dad loved (I couldn't try them because of allergies but my vegetarian cousins also really liked them).

I would want risotto for cocktail hour if the vegetarian entree was pasta but hienatly I'd be thrilled with either since there are a few other vegetarian options!

That ravioli sounds delicious. The best vegetarian wedding dish I had was stuffed peppers, they were sooo good.

I love this idea!! We almost went with a caterer that offered a very similar option, and my sister said it sounded amazing too (she is still vegetarian, and I was for about 11 years.) I definitely think it's the best option I've seen or eaten at a wedding!

I'm not vegetarian, but I'd eat that!

We are having noodles & company cater our wedding so any option can be made vegetarian haha. I have a ton of gluten free friends, so we are going to have pad thai (gf, df, vegetarian) as one of the options.
