Vegas wedding

Desiree, on July 30, 2019 at 5:26 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 17
Good afternoon ladies, question.. I am getting married on October 27,2019 in Vegas. Many friends & family said that they will attend. But I am not sure if my guests are coming. I need a head count. My question is how can I tell them to let me know if they will attend our wedding without begin too pushy?

Send them an invitation with an RSVP card.

Usually most vendors need a head count anywhere from 2 weeks to 30 days before the event. Have you sent out invitations and RSVPs?

Did you send out formal invitations with RSVP cards? Or with an online RSVP option? This is really the only way to add up the number of people planning to attend.

When you send out invites, there is usually a place on the RSVP card that tells the guests when to send it back, like a deadline. Most couples set that deadline at least a week or two before the wedding, as that is when the caterer/venue needs a final head count. So, once the deadline passes, if you still have people who have not responded, you and FH will then contact those people to get a firm yes or no. It's the only way you can get an accurate head count.

Were they physical RSVPs or online RSVPs? My deadline was July 15th and we only got 40/108 responses. You should probably just start calling people.

When do your vendors need final numbers by? 3 months before is an extremely early RSVP date.

The vendors don’t need a head count until September. I am just nervous, I just want to know who is coming., I guess I am stressing myself out 😳 lol

I'm sorry! I know waiting is so hard!! If your wedding is in October, I'm guessing your RSVP deadline must be somewhere around the end of September? So, yes, wait until the deadline and see where you are. Hopefully, a lot more of your guests will have responded by then. For the ones who haven't, start reaching out. Remember that a lot of people won't put that little card in the mail until the deadline. So, it's a good idea to wait a few days after the deadline, in case some stragglers come in. Then start making calls/texts to the ones who still haven't responded. Believe me, I know I'm going to be in this same boat in a few months. I'm not looking forward to it! Ugh. This is the un-fun part of wedding planning!

I would wait until a week or two before your vendors need a final headcount to reach out.

You can also reach out informally to your VIPs and casually bring it up. That I dont think would be too pushy especially since it's a DW.
