Using Mom/grandma’s Dress/veil?

Rebecca, on August 2, 2019 at 10:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Is anybody incorporating their Mom’s or Grandma’s dress or veil in their wedding? I’m planning on trying to use my mom’s veil and my cousin had her mom’s dress made into a short dress for her engagement pictures and shower. I love the idea and was wondering if anybody else is trying to re-use or incorporate something with sentimental meaning!

That’s so great! I wore my grandma’s garter (that my mom also wore) and my great grandma’s jewelry that she, my grandma, and my mom all wore to their weddings!

I wanted to wear my mom's dress but she managed to sit in chocolate cake and drop spaghetti sauce down it. 🙄 😆
She's also a foot shorter than me and was pregnant so to say it fits funny is an understatement. Otherwise I'd have worn it.

I’m not wearing a dress or using a veil. But I am wearing FH grandmothers jewelry for our wedding.

    That's really sweet!

My mom rented her dress and veil, so won't be able to use any of those, sadly!

I'm using lace from my moms dress to wrap around my bouquet stems!

My vision for my dress was too different to encorpoate anything from my mom's dress unfortunately, but I am using her veil. She actually combined her veil with my godmother's, and I'm so excited to honor them that way

My mom made my veil out of hers. It was cathedral length and I wanted a shorter one because I love the back of my dress and didnt want it hidden by the veil. So it has the sentimental value I'll of being her veil and has an extra special touch since she altered it for me.

I wore my moms veil! She really wanted me to incorporate something of her wedding day attire and she was maybe a size 12...I'm a 22! So I bought a dress that would look nice with the veil. It's hard to tell but the edging on my moms veil went wonderfully with my dress!

Pic didn't attach with the first post but I found a better pic of it too, complete with sassy mom in the back haha.
