Upset about engagement photos

I agree use not being paid yet to your advantage, and ask for a reshoot and explain what you don't like. If you saw other work that was awesome use those photos as examples to show her what your looking for. But I agree you guys do look sad almost in mourning. Also even if you do get a redo and the photos come out better do not use her for your wedding. You won't be able to re do those pictures

The fact she only wanted $200 for them is part of the problem Your photographer obviously doesn't have very much experience/isn't very good. Definitely don't use them for your wedding! Explain that you are unhappy and why, and see if there are any other shots they will share with your of if they offer to re-shoot you. Also, for next time, don't be afraid to speak up during a shoot if you don't feel that your photographer is getting certain shots that you wanted!

Ok, no... My daughter is 20, has a Canon Rebel T5i. She's taken 2 professional classes to learn how to use it, and some photography courses. She LOVES photography. She takes pictures for the Academy she works at, has helped build a modeling portfolio, and has been asked to do birthdays, graduation, engagement, etc... Here are some she did for a recent engagement photo.... Even better, since she's trying to build her portfolio, she charged them nothing.

Btw, I had a REALLY hard time picking 1 out of 4 in the series she took at this location. They turned out REALLY good!!

My point is, sometimes finding an amateur can work. You just have to see samples of their work, and have someone willing to work with you. She was with them all day, and went wherever they wanted to go. They bought her dinner at the end, and she was happy. Because, food. LOL

We also dumped our e-pic photographer after an awful portfolio was produced. It set us back about $700, but I'm so excited about our new photographer. Hoping you find someone wonderful!!!

Don't think 200$ is the reason, a crappy photographer is the reason you can find a good photographer on a budget! Ours were 200$ too and I loved them, my pic is one of them and I attached another. Don't think you have to spend a lot to get what you want just need to do research

You'll have a hard time getting a refund, if she has a FB page or anything you can threaten a bad review. Hopefully for 200$ she doesn't think it is worth it. Best of luck!

I will not be hiring her as a photographer for the wedding. And I'm working on getting a better photographer for both the wedding and engagement

Hi Shanti. I can understand your frustration especially choosing her after seeing her work and then not liking what she did for you. I am glad to hear you are in search of another photographer for your wedding.

Oh girl, Im so sorry but these are really bad. My FH is a big nut about photos and I think this would be like our worst nightmare. Be glad you didnt use her for your wedding!! Those are a little harder to retake

A few friends had pictures taken by her. And based on their pictures I booked her. @gymrat
