UPS ruined my package again!!!!

S. Suarez, on June 16, 2017 at 12:00 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 30

Ok, so a few days ago I posted how UPS left my package outside in the rain with nothing over it & my STDs were ruined. Well... They did it, again!!! I got home to a box that looked like it was thrown from the UPS van on my lawn. I go inside with the soaked box, open it & the envelopes were ruined. Yes, they were wrapped, but one of the corners snagged & they got wet Smiley sad I'm sooo over it! I don't know how much common sense these drivers have?! It has literally been raining all day in Tampa & won't stop for the next week. How hard is it to put the package near the door so it'll stay dry??? I did call & make a complaint to UPS against the driver. Then, I emailed WPD & just asked them to send only envelopes (for the magnet std) to be sent via USPS mail. I just can't win! (Rant over)

Smiley sad( I remember your post!! Smh, shame on whoever that UPS driver was!! I'm sure there is a way they can look it up for you to make a complaint because that's just ridiculous!! By now that UPS driver would have to catch these hands lol!! Just playingSmiley smile, but I agree that's just common sense to put the package somewhere safe!!!

Oh no I'm sorry! That really sucks! Can you possibly pick it up at a UPS store instead of having them deliver it to your house? I know it's an inconvenience but would definitely keep the package dry.

Also I'm in Tampa too! This weather has been terrible! I hope they can make it right.

This is my suggestion since I know this is frustrating....sign up for delivery alerts. Every ups package that is sent to your address you will receive an email the day before. Once you get the email go to the website with the tracking number and change the delivery to the ups store closest to you and go pick it up.

I had neigbors bad kids stealing my packages. Its free to sign up for

Agree with pp, pick it up, or set to have it delivered at a certain time you know you will be home

How can this happen twice? I'm so sorry OP I remember your post from a few days ago! I hope WPD is as cooperative as they were the first time around!

ETA: I'm in Tampa too and this rain has been awful! I'm so sorry they're doing this to you. Anyone who lives in FL understands the rain this time of year. It only takes 10 seconds to make sure the package is in an area where it will be dry.

Oh no!! I'm sorry! I'm in Tampa too and they had to have known it would get wet at some point in the day! Some people just have no common sense.

I'm expecting mine tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

So sorry, I totally get your frustration... our post office (small town) is really bad with their service. Definitely make a complaint if you haven't already!!

Can you drive there on a weekend so that they can actually see the damage? No one cares until you actually show them. Stay on them, don't give up.

That's horrible. I terrified this is going to happen to us so I get everything shipped to work.

Is this normally how UPS delivers your packages?

He or she probably doesn't want to get wet in the rain so they just toss out your package. It's likely the same driver as last time.

WTF. Whenever I've gotten packages from UPS and it's been raining they've put them in plastic bags. DEFINITELY file a complaint and claim

You can make a complaint with UPS. Take pics and complain until you get someone to understand the importance of this package!

Is it USPS or UPS? Either way I'd be going directly to the closest office to file a complaint in person!

I don't have much protection from the rain at my house. So I bought a plastic tote box, wrote on the top to put packages inside and I leave it by my door. It took a delivery or two but it caught on and now I don't have to worry. May be try that for future deliveries? So sorry that happened to you.
