Upper lip hair removal

I have pretty dark and therefore noticeable upper lip hair. I usually just let it go and only pluck it when I know there will be pictures. However, I HATE plucking it because it hurts like hell and takes me over an hour and is never completely done and even. I don't want to pay someone else to do it...

I don't want to pay someone else to do it either because that's just not in the budget.

Does anyone use those creams for facial hair removal? Any recommendations?? I've tried one kind and it really dried out my upper lip and made it very red for like a week, so that worries me.

If anyone has any the recommend that don't cause redness, please let me know!! I'm so tired of the agony of plucking...and the awkwardness of just leaving it for all to see.

I get it waxed too...I wouldn't trust those creams on my upper lip. Sometimes I use a Sally Hansen home kit and those work too...just make sure you do it sooner rather than later. You don't want to get it waxed and have your upper lip be lighter than the rest of your face from a spring/summer tan.

Thread it. It hurts first few times but it get all the hair and peach fuzz and the more you go the less hair keeps growing

If you have sensitive skin, don't go with the creams, so many chemicals! I know it hurts, but to me threading is the best option other than laser! So smooth and lasts longer than waxing for me. There's no application of anything, cream/wax onto the skin so you shouldn't get a reaction other than some redness that goes away in an hour. And seriously it probably costs less than the store bought hair removal. About $5 for upper lip

Waxing is like $7.... when weddings are in the thousands, I don't understand how that can't be budgeted. If things are that tight, consider going fake vs real flowers. Get a cheaper dress, etc...

Also, for $14 they have little pen like electric personal grooming razors. Painless, quick, efficient.

Getting it waxed isn't that expensive, even at a nice place! I get mine waxed once a month - it's the price I pay for being Italian Smiley smile

I've tried doing it myself and it is just not the same angle!

I don't know where you live, but I only pay $10 to get mine waxed. It's well worth it.

I hate plucking. I'm so lazy with it. Chin, eyebrows, upper lip, everything. Every weekend I'll sip wine and pluck. I'll wax before pictures because I can't seem to maintain it. I'm a hairy beast!

Olay has a hair remover cream that I use for my upper lip. I get the one for more coarse hair so it's stronger but the trick for me is to leave it on a couple extra minutes for it to work. It's like $20 and has multiple uses out of it.

@Kristin I've had my eyebrows threaded twice. First time was stellar, painless, and looked amazing. Second time I was in agony and my eyebrows actually started bleeding. Serious WTF moment. I'll stick with waxing from now on.

I get it waxed unless I'm in a time crunch and use the Sally Hansen kit.
