Updos vs down?

Jackie, on February 28, 2011 at 4:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

In your opinion, with this dress, with simple jewelry and a traditional veil, should hair be up or down or half up.

example pics included

up do pros

off your neck so you dont get hot dancing

simple jewelry is highlighted, in my opinion

up do cons

wedding night you have a billion bobby pins in your hair and have to take them all out or ask husband to help take them out

doesn't move gracefully as you dance.

I go with the 2 pics of the low bun with flowers. I don't think too many bobby pins will be needed and its simple but elegant, also will accentuate the jewlery. Also will stay out of your way while you are dancing etc. Smiley smile

Personally I think the only time you really MUST have an updo is if you have a dress with a detailed neck that you want to show off. Otherwise the sky is the limit and is based on your preference.

I tend to think that for a wedding you should have something special done with your hair. But that's just me! Updo's are elegant and always a lovely choice. My hubs wanted me to wear my hair down so I did a partial updo so that he got to see my hair long, but I got to feel more formal with my hair partially up.

Lol, FH says he loves my shoulders so I wouldnt mind showing them but he also says he likes my curly hair, so I am thinking I may do one of the low buns with curls hanging off, but also i bought a head band expecting to do the taylor swift one, and I'm wondering f a headband would look ok with a low bun...? Too busy right?

I like choice #2. I prefer to stay as close to my original appearance as possible. I have hair to my waist an am doing a curled side ponytail.

I'm doing an up do only because if my hair was down I would be fussing with it all night and when its up I can't mess with it.

I think I agree Stacy, If it was down, I would be throwing it over my shoulders or tucking it behind my ear all night.
