Updo's for thin hair - I am at a loss here

I never went to prom or have had anyone ever "do" my hair. In fact, the first time I had someone other than myself cut my hair in 12 years was this past summer. I never went to prom or have had anyone ever "do" my hair. In fact, the first time I had someone other than myself cut my hair in 12 years was this past summer. Well when I had my hair cut the beautician commented on how baby thin my hair is and yes it is very thin and you cannot really do anything with it. I am at a loss for how to do my hair for the wedding. It will need to be put up for sure but I do not want to start looking at styles on line because I know my hair is too thin for the beautiful "weddingish" styles you see. Do any other brides have thin hair? How are you having yours done for the wedding?

I agree with extensions. There are other varieties than tape in. They have clip and/or clamp in. My hair dresser used a variety on my hair for the wedding and my hair looked amazing. Needless to say I eventually had to take them out and I miss my long thick hair now. But they do work wonders.

I have about exactly as much hair as Alexis (same length too... won't get any longer... grrrr). I do really well with clip in extentions. I wore them for my e-pics, and they held great and looked absolutely natural. For the wedding, I'm planning on getting a second set for even more volume. A stylist who is good at updos should be able to make your hair look great.

My stylist has recommended permanent extensions for me. I don't think I want to deal with them on a daily basis (don't know how pulling them up in a ponytail to wad under a hard hat every day would go) so I'm sticking with clip ins.

ETA: One of our e-pics... shows how my hair looked with extensions. Imagine Alexis' hair, but light blonde and naturally curly... that's what I have to deal with. Huge difference with extensions!

I have thin hair too! I hate it. Here's my hair inspiration for the big day. I figured you don't need thick hair for these kind of doo's. My aunt also has really baby this hair and she did extensions and LOVED em she looked amazing!

I have super duper fine and thin hair. Like literally... it's see through in some places. haha

I say leave it to your pro... they'll know what to do.

I was in a wedding for one of my girlfriends and she used my stylist. This is a bad pic, but this is the look she created for me. It looked great and held up all night. An experienced stylist will know how to handle all types of hair.
