Update Email to Vendors

Tiffany, on October 18, 2019 at 2:10 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
Hello!!

Today marks 6 months till my wedding, April 18th 2020, woohoo!!

I am wondering if I need to send out an update to all my vendors? If so, what do you put in an update email?

Do you send them separately to each vendor or in one big email?

TIA!

I'm not sure what kind of updates they need. As long as everything is set as far as your contracts, you shouldn't really need to finalize things with them until much closer to the wedding.

Unless something major has changed with your wedding, I don't think there's any need to send an update e-mail. I had very little / no communication with any of my vendors between the initial booking and the final consultations over the past few weeks.

Typically you will not need to check-in with your vendors until about 1 month out unless you have major changes in your plans. At the one month mark, most of my vendors actually reached out to me, and then again 1 week out just for finalizing everything.

Hey date twin! If nothing has changed there's definitely no reason to email. However, personally I have been thinking about some things that I plan on just checking in with vendors on over the next couple weeks. For example, making payments on things and checking in about when I can discuss drinks with the venue (they're a cidery that offered to make us a custom small batch cider). Its things I need to check in with them before the 1 month mark anyway, but its also a little bit for my own sanity.

Usually, vendors don’t want to touch base until the month before. With all their couples, they’ll forget. I also touched base a week before.
