Unwanted bra exposure

My rehearsal dinner dress has a lace back. The sales lady told me I could wear it braless (which, as a 34dd, I haven't done in 10 years!). The more I try to go braless, the less comfortable I am. If I do wear a bra, it is hard to keep it unnoticeable. I have tried four bra styles so far and they all...

I have tried four bra styles so far and they all show a little, even the nude/skin colored ones. Adhesive bras do little or nothing to support. Is there some way to wear an actual bra but keep it from showing at the same time?

Personally, I would get really cute bra staps that compliment the dress.

    I would either:

    1) Talk to a bra retailer about low-back bras

    2) Wear a nude bra and just not care

    3) See if I could find a tailor to add something to the back so that the see-through lace didn't go as low. That way, I could wear a regular strapless bra, and the back of the dress would still be lacey-backless (just not as low)

I'm with KT. Can you just find a bra in the same color?

Thanks for the really helpful responses.

Eleanor - what do mean by bra in the same color?? The dress is basically white but a white bra would look trashy in the back, I think. I had been thinking about a nude bra that wouldn't be as obvious, but it seems like it would probably still show.

What about the options i found on the web (re-posted below)?

I've seen bras with clear shoulder straps AND clear back straps. I think Victoria's Secret sells one, to be honest. I think it would be worth it.

This might be it, though I'm not sure... it also comes in a more basic style for a little less money.

I would not wear a regular strapless bra, even if it were nude or clear plastic in the back. A strapless bra will almost certainly be noticeable, even if it has nude or clear plastic, and the look will be ruined. The bra you posted with shoulder straps would have the same issue, I'm afraid. Nobody wants to see straps. I think your options are to use a low-back bra, an adhesive style, or go braless.

As a big busted woman myself, I would advise to skip the clear straps.. they're plastic and simply horrible. Save yourself the money.. good luck!

Just got an 'In Style' magazine in the mail with 25 miracle bras listed. They recommend Fashion Forms strapless with wings from Macys.

I took a look and Fashion Forms has several styles, MC535 has the wings and underwire for support.

    This might be an option.

That MC535 bra looks great! I'm definitely going to check that out. The links posted by Jet and Rachel are really helpful too. Thanks so much!!
