Unplugged Wedding Wording

Sara, on July 11, 2018 at 1:18 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 64

How does this wording sound?

"As we tie the knot please be our guest; the photographer here can handle the rest. These moments go fast, as I'm sure you well know. So put your cameras down as we've hired a pro!"

I like it! Overall i just love the idea of unplugged weddings. It also irritates me so so much that people dont know to NOT stream someone else's wedding on Facebook or IG...

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony as well!

Personally I think the rhyme is a bit much, but it is creative.

For ours, we will probably just have our officiant make an announcement prior to the ceremony, but we may choose to do a sign that says something along the lines of, "Welcome to our Unplugged Ceremony. We invite you to be fully present during this time. Please turn off all cell phones and cameras."

I think it’s fine. Is this going on your wedding website or a sign at the ceremony? I think the best thing would be to have your officiant make an announcement as a lot of times people don’t read things.

It’s fine to request an unplugged ceremony, but please don’t do a rhyme. It makes it seem like you’re talking to kindergarteners.

What do you need the wording for? We are just having the officiant say a gentle reminder, and a small line at the bottom of our programs. That should be enough for adults to understand to keep their phones away.

I'm just trying to be upbeat, that's all.

It doesn’t come off as upbeat to me. It’s comes off as condescending.

This. Rhymes always seem a bit insulting when directed at adults.

I love that so much!!! Very professionally and not rude at all! If your guests are upset at that, it’s their problem, not yours.

All you need is for the officiant to make an announcement. The poem is condescending.

I don't see how a rhyme is condescending, but not my problem! LOL.

Just have the officiant say something. This is a little extra and almost childish IMO...

I wouldn't do the full rhyme, maybe just the first sentence. I won't be doing a sign at my wedding, we will just have our officiant make a statement (if we feel it is necessary, I've yet to attend an wedding where anyone had phones out, and most of the people invited to my wedding are people whose weddings I was in attendance at)

How is it not your problem? It's your wedding and your guests right??

Those I'm inviting know my personality and the rhyming fits my personality. I didn't think people would dog on it so much! It flows easily when you read it in my opinion.
