"Unofficial" Bridal Party Etiquette

Kendall , on June 12, 2019 at 3:32 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4

We are having an "unofficial" bridal party, meaning our closest friends will be getting ready with us during the day and taking photos beforehand, but they are not wearing matching suits or matching dresses and are not walking down the aisle. My FH wants his friends to wear boutonnieres. If my FH's friends have bouts, do my girlfriends have to have something as well? If so, any ideas other than a corsage?

Since it's unofficial, there isn't really set etiquette. Maybe you can give them a flower to go in they're hair? Bouquets would be overkill I think since they aren't walking down the aisle.

Thanks, Hannah! I like your idea of a flower in their hair.

Yes, you are right - there isn't really set etiquette and that's what has been tripping me up!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Kendall!

As the pp mentioned, there is no set etiquette here! It’s really about what you would like to do.

I love the idea of a single flower in their hair or a simple corsage which matches the boutonnieres.

Will the boutonnieres have flowers in them? You could use the same flowers!

Maybe just a single flower, or you can have it tied with a simple ribbon if you like.
