Unity Wine Ceremony

Jana, on July 1, 2015 at 8:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Has anyone ever had a unity wine cermony as part of their cermony or thinking about incorporating that into your ceremony? I really like the idea behind the sand, candle, and wine ceremonies and we are having our ceremony at a winery and are both wine lovers so it almost seems perfect. Just trying to get more ideas.

Never heard of a unity wine ceremony. How does it work? Sounds interesting.

We thought about it, but ultimately we want a short and sweet ceremony, so we nixed the idea. I think it is a really cute idea though!

I've seen something similar on four weddings. It was an alcohol unity (I don't believe it was wine) where they had two different flavored and colored alcohols and mixed them. It was very unique.

@Nichole From what I'm understanding the groom has a small glass of red wine and the bride has a small glass of white and they each pour into one larger glass to make a rose wine and each drink. It's supposed to symbolize two becoming one.

I don't want a lengthy ceremony either. I was hoping this would be a short and sweet addition to the ceremony.

I'm not sure how mixing 2 different wines together would work taste-wise, but it's a cute idea. My FH's cousin did a cocktail unity ceremony where they made a screwdriver. It was a fun, unique twist.
